Questions
1. I feel that as we grow more and more reliant on the internet we can see it is growing as a representative democracy, almost like the one we use as a nation. Sure anyone can put something up on the internet, but those websites will probably not get popular. It is the popular websites like a facebook and google that everyone uses. Our opinions and minds can be shifted by what these websites say or do.
2. There is really no regulation on the internet, so websites like facebook and google can almost become monopolies. These websites are used by a majority of people world wide, so they can easily mold peoples minds to the way the want. This is not a problem now but i am sure in the future it could become one. 3. The phenomenon know as the media echo-chamber is when information is shared only between people withe the same beliefs. These thoughts are bounced back and forth with no other opinions, so often they become extremely biased and distorted. For example, Most news networks are pretty biased so if one only watches one news network they do not get both sides of the story. If one watches only MSNBC their views will be mostly liberal, or if someone only watches FOX news there views will be mostly Conservative. I believe this is an issue because if people do not get both sides of the story nothing will be changed.
4. I believe that certain expertise have always been enforced on the internet. Like I said before anyone can make a website but it is only the websites that people with computer expertise make that get popular. Jobs now are also starting to look for people with computer expertise who can advertise and do other things for the company. As the world becomes more reliant on technology it needs people with certain expertise to keep things running.
5. Like in the video we watch earlier in the year, some companies have incorporated the game second life into the business place. People are now having business meetings in a virtual world. I think this is really interesting because now people who have never met each other that live on opposite sides of the world can meet together in real time in the same room.
6. I personally do not think that democracy is threatened by the internet. I believe that most people can tell weather a site is reliable and posts reliable information. There will always be people who post fake and biased information on the internet, but i believe that most people have the knowledge to separate the facts from fiction.

The Great Seduction
1. Keen describes media as the great seduction. He believes that it is just a form of seduction that is "undermining truth". He believes that we are all being sucked into this one medium that is forcing us to believe what the truth is. He talks the web 2.0 can trick us into believing that ones opinion is the truth, because on the internet a professional writers information is just as reliable as a bloggers. He also talks about how someone with no talent can become just as successful as a big artist or composer. Youtube has produced a lot celebrities and most them are talentless one hit wonders that seem to pop up everywhere you look on the internet. For example,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg this is one of the most popular videos on youtube, and all this guy did was put up a video of himself dancing.

Keen believes that the web is just a source of lies and slander that can be put up by anyone on the internet. He believes it is a talentless wasteland that people are wasting there time on. Where as Rushkoff believes. The internet and the advancement of technology is nothing but a good thing, He sees it as something that can only advance society. In his movie his wife talks about how there kids are always connected to the internet whether its with their phones or computers. Which is true, you hardly see anyone anymore who is not two feet away from a cellphone or computer. He thinks that the internet is a very good way for everyone to stay connected. I personally believe that Rushkoffs ideas on the internet are right. It is a great way to stay connected, and i have hardly seen anything negative come from the advancement of technology.

Responce
Daniel's essay talks about Art, and the internet. He begins the essay talking about how America has produced a lot of great art in non traditional forms. He talks about Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock, these artists did a lot of outside work that turned out to be great. He says that Europe has a lot of great traditional art but America is not in the dark when it comes to the matter.
He than starts to talk about youtube as an art form, which I thought was pretty cool. Anyone can summit a video, and instantly become popular. Where normally in art you have to already be famous for your pieces to be recognized. He also talks about how this is not always the case because most youtube videos go virtually unseen.

Essay #1
When joining a social network one is basically signing a contract giving everyone the right into there personal space. There is going to be a loss of privacy, it just comes with the web page. This can be seen as harmful, or beneficial to us as a whole. As we get further and further in our social networks we almost lose are personality and join together to form one super person.
Joining a social network comes with a price. You will most likely lose some personal space. For example, someone can easily post an embarrassing picture of you that you would usually keep private. One could also easily view your profile and look at all your information. I feel like as our society progresses and our technology has improves we lose more and more of our personal space and time to ourselves. For example, we can not escape cellphones because they are always there sitting in our front pockets. Now we can't go anywhere without being connected to the internet because it is on our cell phones. We are basically all just links in a giant chain. We are all connected to one giant net work.
Being on a social network and having a lack of privacy can be a bad thing. For example, your boss might stumble upon your page and see a picture of you which gives him just enough evidence to have you fired. So in the end it either becomes have a page get fired, don't put as much up so you don't get to express yourself, or don't have a page at all. I personally don't think its fair that jobs can judge because of a website, but in the end my opinion does not really matter.
As we get further and further into technology and social networks we become more and more connected with one another. Our pages look similar and have similar stuff on it, our pictures start to look similar with similar goofy smiles. It is almost as if we are becoming one hyper person becoming connected by face book and social network sites like it. I personally feel like I know people better even if I don't really know them, because of their facebook pages.

Basically my my image shows everything that Hulu is capable of. The top to images inside of the moniter are a reel of film and a TV. These are what people think of what they think of Hulu, how ever a lot of people don't know that you can also watch sports and listen to music on Hulu. Hulu is all of these things and more packed into a computer.
All of this has changed not only the way we watch TV, but the way we think about it. Hulu has made TV entertainment always available, and completely shareable. Now one can send a link of a TV show or clip to a friend, where as with a TV one could not. I find my self asking could this be a bad or a good thing. On one side we have an easy access to entertainment and news. We are connected to the outside world and with each other. On the other hand it could be making a lazier more, almost TV brainwashed, world.

I chose Hulu because of its vast diversity. I personally believe that Hulu and websites like it are soon to make TV an obsolete medium. It has so much to offer like a plethora of TV shows, movies, and short clips. Hulu is a great medium of advertising because it viewers are forced to watch several ads through out there intended program.
